The name Daniel Radcliffe has become a staple in households across the world ever since he debuted as “the boy who lived '' in J.K Rollings successful book turned movie series Harry Potter (2001-2011). This infamous role consumed the young English actor’s life for just over a decade and gave him the opportunity to work some of Hollywood’s crème de la crème, such as Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith, Michael Gambon, Ralph Fiennes, Helena Bonham Carter and much, much more. During this time, he became one of the world’s highest paid actors, as well as gaining worldwide fame, popularity, critical acclaim, and numerous awards.
Releasing he had enough money to live comfortably for the rest of his life Daniel Radcliffe decided to play only the roles he truly wanted, either because he enjoyed the script, liked the character, or genuinely thought it would just be a good experience to have. I mean, wouldn’t you? Thankfully the man has great taste and has blessed us with some great characters in some interesting films, such as playing the haunted lawyer in the horror film The Woman in Black (2012), the poet Allen Ginsberg in Kill Your Darlings (2013), a sentient corpse in the comedy-drama Swiss Army Man (2016), and an FBI agent in the critically acclaimed thriller Imperium (2016) – just to name a few. And this year we are waiting for the release of his newest movie Weird: The Al Yankovic Story (2022). How exciting!
However, being on the big screen wasn’t the only thing that interested Radcliffe as he branched out into stage acting and starred in the West End and Broadway productions of Equus, How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying, and The Lifespan of a Fact. It is safe to say Daniel Radcliffe has really done it all and honestly the people love him for it. They love the drama, the movies, the contributions he has made to charities such as the Trevor Project (which earned him a Hero Award), and also because Radcliffe always has a way of just looking… charming. We don’t know if that’s because of the piercing blue eyes, the British accent, or the head of thick, brown hair but - and I think everyone can agree – we want more of it!
So, we at NO GUNK have put together a style guide on how you can create the latest and greatest Daniel Radcliffe haircut. Continue on to find out more…
It was hard not to notice Daniel Radcliffe’s new cut on the Tonight Show. It was modern and gave the English actor a rugged, handsome look. This is a great haircut for businessmen as Radcliffe has shown it pairs well nicely with a suit jacket and shoes, but this haircut would also look great for chilling in the beer garden with your mates wearing a soft polo shirt and a pair of nice trainers. It sounds like it’s time to book an appointment with your barber because we have just found your next summer look.
How To Cut:
Ask your barber for a faded undercut and quiff. To make sure you get a really accurate haircut, show your barber a picture of the haircut you want (above). First section off the top hair so it’s not in the way and then start by cutting with the base of the hair with a #1and tapering into a#1 ½ just lower than the temples – aim for around the same height as your eyebrows. For the remaining hair left between your eyebrows and parietal ridge clipper it down with #3.5. Now, point cut into the top hair at around 4-4 ½ inches and taper it off towards the crown of the head.
How To Style:
This is a great hairstyle to have and goes really well with a bit of stubble or a beard.
From what we can tell this lovely, cropped back and sides in Daniel Radcliff’s go-to look. It’s understandable. This haircut is easy to maintain and creates an impact all in one go. This is a great haircut to get if you have nice thick hair that tends to stay straight no matter the humidity.
How To Cut
Book an appointment with your barber and ask for a cropped back and sides and a scissor cut on the top. This whole haircut is done with scissors. Start at the nape and overcomb the nape at around 2 inches in length and then gradually work it up till the hair is around 3 inches in length. Then for the top point cut into the hair at around 3-4 inches in length, depending on how long you want the style, and taper it off a bit towards the crown so everything looks tidy. Your barber can then go over it once more to make sure everything is even.
